Pirates of Tokyo Bay: English & Japanese Improv Comedy
Jun 28, 2026 at 7:30pm ~ Jun 28, 2026 at 9:30pm
For 16 years, the Pirates of Tokyo Bay have been making audiences laugh in English and Japanese with their fast-paced, short-form improv comedy shows. Whatever language you speak, the Pirates can make you laugh at their monthly show at What the Dickens in Ebisu.
– What is Improv? No scripts, no safety nets. Just high-energy comedy created on the spot.
– Solo Friendly: Flying solo? No problem. It’s a friendly, social atmosphere perfect for meeting locals and expats.
– Language Practice: The show switches between English and Japanese, making it a fun, low-pressure way to practice your listening skills (we use plenty of physical comedy, so everyone can follow along!).
– Ticket Deals: Grab “Early Bird Pair Tickets” online to save money, or just walk in and buy a ticket at the door on the night.
Each show is performed in a mix of English and Japanese, with the performers doing their best to make the premise of every scene clear, regardless of your language ability. There is no script and no plan—join us as we create scenes, stories, and songs inspired entirely by audience suggestions!
