Roppongi Hills Bon Odori Festival 2024
Aug 23, 2024 at 3:00pm ~ Aug 25, 2024 at 9:00pm
Roppongi Hills, operated by Mori Building Co., Ltd., will hold the “Roppongi Hills Bon Odori 2024” from August 23rd (Friday) to 25th (Sunday).
Now celebrating its 19th year, this event is a Roppongi Hills summer tradition where you can experience a quintessential Japanese summer with all five senses.
A large, symbolic tower will be erected in the center of the venue, Roppongi Hills Arena, and gourmet and game stalls will be set up there!
The Roppongi Hills Bon Odori performance will take place on August 24th and 25th from 5pm—8pm.
Enjoy lots of music, featuring the original Bon Odori song “Roppongi Ondo” sung by singer Roppongi Jiro. Men and women of all ages and backgrounds dressed in yukata fill the venue and dance around a large tower to the tune of “Sore Yoiyoiyoi”. You can either join in or just watch the Bon Odori dance! What a way to liven up your summer.
Now in its 16th year, “Rakugeki Roppongi Raku” is an original Roppongi Hills performing arts show that began in 2006. They will perform on August 23rd from 7pm—8pm.
A total of about 150 people will perform, including professional Daidengaku groups from all over Japan called “Wazaogi,” residents and workers of Roppongi Hills, and general participants living in the areas surrounding Roppongi Hills. Participants gather at a local junior high school gymnasium for a month and a half from mid-July until the actual event, where they practice repeatedly before taking part in the event.
A variety of sensory games and workshops will be held for children on Roppongi Keyakizaka Street, with the themes of forest trees, water, and soil. They will be open on August 24th and 25th from 4pm—7:30pm.
A forestry environment tax was introduced this year, and protecting forests with the participation of all citizens is gaining attention as a national policy. With this in mind, there are many experiences that make you feel closer to the forest, even in the city, such as “Making a Giant Billboard,” “Forest Clay Art,” and “Forest Snow Dome.”

Food stalls and trucks will open a day early, on August 23rd, from 3pm—9pm. They will also be open on the festival days (the weekend), from 5pm—9pm.
Game stalls (offering yo-yos, shooting games, ring toss, masks and more) will be open all three days, until 9pm (opens at 3pm on Friday, but at 5pm on the weekend).
