Short Shorts Film Festival 2026 returns to Tokyo as one of Asia’s largest Academy Award® accredited short film festivals. Held across multiple venues and online, this year’s theme, “Cinema Engineering,” explores how technology and storytelling intersect in contemporary filmmaking.

The Short Shorts Film Festival 2026 takes place across several Tokyo venues, including MoN Takanawa, WITH HARAJUKU HALL, Akasaka Intercity Conference and EuroLive in Shibuya. Programs vary by location, with screenings, talks and special events scheduled throughout the festival period.

Key events include the opening ceremony on May 25 and the award ceremony on June 10. An extended online program runs through June 30, offering additional access to selected films.

Tickets go on sale from April 23, with pricing depending on the program. Previous editions have offered day passes and festival packages, along with some free screenings.
