The launch party for Tokyo Poetry Journal (ToPoJo) Volume 12, “Now Translating,” will be held at ØL LA CABINA near Higashi Nihonbashi on the evening of Friday May 12 from 7:00PM. The volume features contemporary Japanese poets in English translation, many translated for the first time. The event will include dynamic bilingual (English and Japanese) readings by cutting-edge poets and translators, as well as music performances including psychedelic synth-pop duo Santa Dharma. Poets who will perform their work include Sonic Nurse, Arai Takako, Fuzuki Yumi, Endo Hitsuji, fukudapero, Michiyama Rain (most recent national champion of Kotoba Slam Japan), Aoyagi Natsumi (most recent winner of the Nakahara Chuya Prize for Poetry) and the editors of Tokyo Poetry Journal (Jordan A.Y. Smith, Zoria Petkoska and more). Admission includes a copy of the book and all proceeds go to support publication of the all-volunteer Tokyo Poetry Journal.

Tokyo Poetry Journal back issues will be available at the door. Excursions (Imprint Series) books also available.
