Popular actress Kyoko Fukada (Kamikaze Girls) will appear in the TV drama Phantom Night, based on the bestseller by popular novelist Keiko Higashino. The story is about the Machiavellian machinations of Mifuyu Shinkai, a woman who will stop at nothing and use any man she can to achieve her ambitions. “It was a tough role,” said Fukada (pictured), 27, at a recent news conference in Tokyo. “Playing this awful woman and speaking her lines gave me a whole new outlook.” The show will be broadcast on Sundays at 10pm from November 21.
