In addition to shooting David Bowie’s iconic Ziggy Stardust photographs, lensman Masayoshi Sukita was behind numerous memorable album covers, including YMO’s self-titled 1979 masterpiece. Sound & Vision is the name of the definitive new monograph on Sukita’s whirlwind career, and also provides the inspiration for this retrospective exhibition in Ebisu. Featuring over 300 photographs, the show traces the arc of Sukita’s life from his early 70s meeting with Bowie through his work with T. Rex as well as his street photography and shots of Japanese counterculture figures.
