Akasaka Animal Hospital has served the central Tokyo metropolitan and surrounding area for over 50 years in the field of companion animal care. We are dedicated to serving people and their animal companions through quality veterinary medicine in order to promote, protect and celebrate the human-animal bond. The hospital director, Hiroko Shibanai, and medical director Takuo Ishida are former presidents of the Japan Animal Hospital Association and lead the hospital in its belief that veterinarians are the best friends and spokespeople for the well-being of animals.

Neko no Kutsushita

Neko no kutsushita (cat socks) is a cafe located in a tranquil residential area only 10 minutes from Ikebukuro station on the Seibu Ikebukuro line. The atmosphere here is quietly different from other famous places such as Shinjuku or Shibuya—a not-so-crowded place where you can take your time sipping coffee and relaxing in an unhurried and stylish atmosphere. And its resident felines do their best to help customers chill out.Designed as “an elegant place where customers can have fun with cats” while enjoying a quality cup of Joe, the purebred staff neko here are very friendly and playful with customers of all ages. It’s no secret that cats know how to take it easy, and they can certainly teach you how to de-stress. No need to worry about the language barrier—the cats here don’t care what your mother tongue is, and the cafe will happily provide an English menu.

Toranomon Veterinary Clinic

Professional health care for your cat, dog, rabbit or hamster is not far away thanks to Toranomon Veterinary Clinic. Friendly, professional staff and full service in English from reception to treatment of your pet will immediately put you at ease. The head of the clinic, Dr. Koto, has more than ten years’ experience as a veterinary surgeon. Apart from his pleasant and amenable character, he will explain to you in detail about your pet’s problems and suggest an appropriate course of treatment. A comprehensive range of services is available including—but not limited to—vaccinations, medical examinations and parasite prevention. In cases where your pet may need more specialized treatment, referrals can be given to the right veterinarian. Inquiries are welcome regarding quarantining or taking your pet abroad. The clinic is situated within easy walking distance from several Tokyo Metro stations (it’s only 2 minutes on foot from Toranomon station), and some parking space is provided in front of the clinic.
