Rakugo is another one of those boring, impenetrable traditional Japanese arts. Or is it? In the hands of Liverpool-born Diane Orrett, the comedic storytelling form is not only easily comprehensible, but also downright hilarious. Orrett presents rakugo in English, and shows how comedians have developed a suggestive art that can convey plenty of physical comedy—all from a kneeling position.
