Line characters invade Uniqlo

The now well-known and ubiquitous characters from the phone chat app Line have apparently “made it” and are now plastered all over Uniqlo’s popular T-shirt brand, UT (¥1,018). Line “stickers,” as they’re known, are the next-generation emoticon used to fully express what you’re feeling when texting—without typing (or saying) a word. Angry with your boss? Send your friend a sticker with Coney glaring at an old oyaji’s back. These hot figures have already sparked a series of retail goods ranging from golf club covers to actual stickers and look like they’re here to stay, brought forth into the analog world. These T-shirts represent the brand’s first real foray into fashion. Available at Uniqlo.
