The National Museum of Modern Art presents the third installment in a series of exhibitions featuring artistic responses to the March 2011 disaster. Works include a series of video installations by the provocative group Chim↑Pom—which made its name with an exhibition of taxidermied Shibuya rats in 2006—as well as more contemplative video pieces by Hikaru Fujii documenting the coastline of irradiated parts of Fukushima prefecture. Through these artists’ interpretations, the exhibition aims to explore aspects of the Tohoku disaster that were not presented in the media or that would be difficult to experience firsthand. It also offers a screening of Miyamoto Ryuji’s video work 3.11 Tsunami 2011.
Until Jun 1, MOMAT. See exhibition listings for details.
