Running from June 10 at various locations in Tokyo, the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2010 has unveiled a new competition for musical shorts. One entry of local interest is Mister Rococo, a film inspired by the song “Brave Vibration” from Japanese-American artist Anna Tsuchiya. The story revolves around a girl (Aimi Satsukawa) who is dumped by her boyfriend for a female pro wrestler. As revenge, she beefs herself up, dons a mask, and becomes a wrestler herself. At a recent preview event, Tsuchiya, comedian Neko Hiroshi and other cast members described the experience of making the short film as “novel and refreshing.”
