The icebox-dwelling Fridgeezoo characters will, according to their promo copy, “fill your heart but not your stomach.” These milk carton-shaped creatures with cute anime voices offer daily greetings when you open the refrigerator—but leave the door open too long and you’ll get a scolding. Originally released last July, the animals are said to have escaped from global warming in arctic regions to find a home in your fridge. Characters include a “romantic” middle-aged polar bear, a scatterbrained walrus, a high-pitched baby seal, and a penguin who speaks in the Osaka dialect. As penguins generally do. They’ve been supplemented by a new gang—pig, cow, tiger and squirrel—who are fleeing as global warming creeps closer to farm and jungle territory. ¥1,980 from Appare Store.
