We don’t often say this, but if you check out the link below to Sony’s website, you’ll enjoy one of the more informative selling experiences around—in fact, it may even make you wish for an Internet TV of your very own.
The glossy devices are basically Android-powered computers that integrate the usual TV services with online video, social networking (natch), web browsing and plenty more. There’s also the ability to add applications just like you can on a smartphone, so there’s plenty of room for growth.
The software platform, in case you haven’t guessed, comes from Google, while the hardware is all Sony, all the way. Albeit with an Intel processor, 8GB of memory made somewhere else in Asia, and more… You get the picture.
For now, Sony is selling its range of connected sets only in the US (starting at $599 for 24 inches of LCD goodness), but that’ll change soon enough.
