Triple threat Joseph Gordon-Levitt writes, directs and stars in this Gen-X romp about (social) obsession and addiction. It’s a serious message, but delivered lightly, without moralizing. Jon’s a studly New Joisy mook, easily scoring with the babes, but his real turn-on is internet porn (a boot-up tone is Pavlovian). When he finally meets a woman worth pursuing (a spot-on Scarlett Johansson), it turns out her own addiction is romantic comedies, which rarely mirror real life, and he doesn’t measure up. Enter older woman Julianne Moore, with a few life lessons. Fast-paced, fun and thought-provoking. (90 min)
