Tokyo River Friends, a non-profit organization dedicated to cleaning Tokyo’s rivers, is holding an event at Edogawa river. They make volunteering productive as well as fun by including a picnic/ barbecue along the water as well as a chance to meet other like-minded volunteers.

Edogawa River Clean Up Details

Nov. 15 (Sat.) 1pm-5:30pm

Dec. 20 (Sat.) (time TBA)

They will clean behind the Clean Center and Clean Spa on the Barakinakayma side but meet outside the only ticket gate of Myoden Station and go to the river and pick up trash along the river banks for 3.5 to 4 hours with a break in the middle.

Arakawa River Clean uo Details

Nov. 29 (Sat.) 1pm-5:30pm

Dec. 7 (Sun.) 10am-2:30pm

Dec. 27 (Sat.) (time TBA)

They will clean at the 2nd section of pods from the Dirty Angle (which is the start of the 1st section)
You will meet outside the only ticket gate of Funabori Station and go to the river and pick up trash along the river banks for 3.5 to 4 hours with a break in the middle.

With regard to bad weather, generally these events will not be cancelled in the case of rain (unless a lot of rain or rain and very cold), but please check Tokyo River Friends website for updates if any doubt on a rain day.
