Multi-talented bassist and composer Ben Williams, one of the most dynamic voices in contemporary jazz, brings his electrifying band to Tokyo for a three-night residency at COTTON CLUB.

Winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Competition in 2009, Williams has performed with jazz icons like Pat Metheny, David Sanborn, and Robert Glasper. His solo projects—including I Am a Man and his latest, Between Church & State (featuring Kamasi Washington and Chief Adjuah)—showcase a bold vision that blends jazz, soul, and protest music with modern edge.

Now, Williams takes the stage with an all-star ensemble of next-gen innovators: Brandon Coleman (keys), Justin Brown (drums), Andrew Renfroe (guitar), and Chelsea Baratz (sax). Expect genre-defying grooves, deep lyricism, and fresh perspectives from some of today’s most forward-thinking musicians.
