Enjoy Art and History at DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN

Japan’s rich culture spans over 10,000 years and started quickly evolving from the Jomon period. Dive into this history at “Design Museum Japan 2024ー Collecting and Connecting Japanese Design”. The museum regularly works with NHK which collaborated with creators from all over Japan to explore local lifestyles for this exhibition. You can see historic artworks such as engraved herring boat panels from Hokkaido, mysteriously wavering Nishimonai Bon Odori dancing costumes, ancient threads from Yamagata and decorative Sudare bricks from Tokoname and Kochi. This exhibition introduces these treasures of design along with the stories behind them.
