Kaze no Kai Shakuhachi Concert

Join shakuhachi masters Mizuno Kohmei, Igarashi Suimei and Yajima Yusuke for an evening of meditative honkyoku music in the Kinko-ryu style. These traditional pieces, which have been performed since the Edo period, evoking imagery from the natural world or the contemplative imagination.
With the help of friendly commentary, the concert aims to create an atmosphere where anyone can sink into honkyoku music’s spiritual and artistic depths. This program will explore the rich variety of “Sugagaki” tunes, a distinctive rhythm unique among the honkyoku music. The event is free, no reservations are required.
