From Manouche swing to jazz funk, Europe’s guitar virtuoso Biréli Lagrène returns to Blue Note Tokyo with his trio. Praised by John McLaughlin as a “guitar phenomenon,” he blends influences from Django Reinhardt to Wes Montgomery.
Born in Strasbourg, France, Biréli made his recording debut at just thirteen. Having played with legends like Stéphane Grappelli and Jaco Pastorius, he now leads his own dynamic trio of guitar, sax, and bass. A must-see night of soulful, genre-crossing guitar artistry.
