Remain Prologue: Masahiro Takai Solo Exhibition

Masahiro Takai, a New York-based photographer, shares an upcoming solo exhibition, “Remain Prologue,” held at e2 gallery from April 3 to April 5.

This exhibition is the opening chapter of an ongoing photographic series of Takai’s titled “Remain.” The series began from a feeling that things once lost do not disappear completely, but continue in other forms — as traces, atmospheres and relationships.

In this body of work, Masahiro Takai looks at natural and manmade elements that remain within the city, as well as shifts of light, structure and time. The photographs are not only concerned with what is visibly present, but what has receded and what somehow still lingers.

While the work grows out of his ongoing practice in New York, “Remain Prologue” is shaped specifically as a presentation in Tokyo.
