Concept
This is a cantina called Mograg.
It’s a tavern somewhere in a corner of the galaxy.
Every day, travelers from various planets come here to socialize.
Well, tonight, it seems that the people of the nine planets are gathering and talking.
An artist’s brain is like a planet in itself.
The square canvas is a “window” through which we can catch a glimpse of the world of these planets.
Now, immerse yourself in their verse and explore the universe of creation.
Mograg gallery is also an artist community where artists and friends gather daily and exchange updates on their works. Contact between “people and people” and “people and art”, has been greatly pondered and explored during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mograg gallery will present an exhibition where you can feel the constant joy of this “contact” as a space with the motif of “CANTINA”.
Curator
mograg gallery
Mograg Gallery was founded in 2008 by Motoko Ota (owner) and Okichu (painter/director). Currently, in Okachimachi, they plan and manage exhibitions of artists who are not bound by categorization or expression forms, while focusing on paintings. They are also developing a business that incorporates them into various products. The concept is “Japanese lowbrow art”. As a form of art that originated from the fringes of the mainstream called “high art,” we hope to encounter such taste that can more directly convey the fun of “drawing/watching”.
