A new cultural hub will debut this spring as MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives opens inside Takanawa Gateway City. The experimental museum will host a 21-day opening celebration, “MoN Festival (MoN-sai),” running March 28 to April 17.

Framed as a “festival of culture,” the event brings together creators, thinkers and artisans from across Japan under the museum’s guiding mission of connecting culture. Exhibitions, performances and talks explore how culture is created, shared and carried forward.

Among the highlights is the “MoN Future Conference,” an opening session featuring leading figures in cultural innovation, gathered to discuss new approaches to creativity and cultural production.

“MoN Artisan Stalls” will spotlight traditional craftsmanship. 16 artisans will appear on a rotating basis to demonstrate their techniques and display their work. A stage program titled “Toryu MoN” will spotlight emerging creatives.
