The Mori Art Museum proudly presents a major solo exhibition by renowned contemporary artist Ron Mueck.
This exhibition is a rare and comprehensive showcase of Mueck’s work, offering a deep dive into his artistic evolution. Featuring eleven sculptures, it includes both early masterpieces and recent works, with six pieces making their Japanese debut. Key highlights include the monumental installation Mass (2016–2017), which consists of 100 oversized human skulls, and Woman with Shopping (2013), a poignant portrayal of a mother burdened by daily life.
About Artist
Ron Mueck, known for his highly detailed and life-like sculptures, explores deep human emotions such as vulnerability, anxiety, and resilience. His works often challenge perceptions of scale and reality, evoking powerful individual reflections. Since garnering attention with his participation in “Sensation: Young British Artists from the Saatchi Collection” at the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 1997, he has since held solo exhibitions around the world.
In addition to the sculptures, the exhibition also includes photographs and films documenting Mueck’s creative process, giving the audience a behind-the-scenes look at his meticulous studio practices.
