MUTEK.JP, the electronic music and digital arts festival, is back for its 8th edition from December 7th to 9th, 2023. The event takes place in Tokyo’s bustling Shibuya neighbourhood at the Spotify O-EAST and WOMB venues.

During the three-day event, MUTEK will showcase experimental and innovative live audiovisual performances fusing technology and creativity in a way that can only be experienced at MUTEK.JP.

Highlights include a groundbreaking collaboration between YPY, the electronic music producer known as Koshiro Hino of the band goat, and Kodo, the renowned traditional Japanese drumming group with over 40 years of performance history. Additionally, Paris-based media art duo NONOTAK will make a remarkable comeback to MUTEK.JP, unveiling their new live performance in which light and music are seamlessly synchronised.

Sinjin Hawke & Zora Jones, founders of Fractal Fantasy, will bring the cutting edge of futuristic club music and interactive audio-visual art in their latest live audio/visual performance. The event will also feature a world premiere live audio/visual show by Scotch Rolex & Shackleton, in collaboration with Pedro Maia, fusing adventurous dub sounds with an aesthetic that challenges the conventions between analog, digital, and live cinema.

Well known in the UK drum & bass scene, dBridge will be making his first live appearance in Japan. Jane Fitz, a DJ with a remarkable 25-year career known for her wonderfully unique sets, will also join the line-up.
