NANAKUSE a Group Exhibition at DIESEL ART GALLERY
Jul 26, 2025 at 11:30am ~ Oct 15, 2025 at 8:00pm
From July 26 to October 15, DIESEL ART GALLERY hosts NANAKUSE, a boundary-pushing group exhibition curated by SHINTORA GARO. This showcase unites seven distinct voices from Japan’s vibrant art scene—USUGROW, IMAONE, SHOHEI OTOMO, NISHI, FATE, SNIPE1, and TENGAONE—each rooted in the subcultures of the 1990s and 2000s: graffiti, hip-hop, punk, anime and beyond.
The title, NANAKUSE, literally means “seven quirks” and reflects the bold individuality of the participating artists. True to SHINTORA GARO’s “one-piece gallery” philosophy, each artist presents a central work accompanied by the sketches, notes and process fragments that brought it to life—inviting viewers into the showroom of their inner creative world.
More than just a retrospective of SHINTORA GARO’s journey, NANAKUSE captures the spirit of artistic evolution and resistance to conformity in a time when conformity prevails. Expect vivid narratives, experimental forms and the unexpected.
Alongside the exhibition, visitors can shop exclusive collaboration T-shirts by DIESEL x NISHI and TENGAONE, original prints, as well as a limited-edition zine.
Free admission and the exhibition is open throughout July 26–October 15 11:30pm–8pm daily.
