Nerd Nite Tokyo #71: Civilization Inspiration
Sep 19, 2025 at 7:00pm ~ Sep 19, 2025 at 10:00pm
Nerd Nite Tokyo once again gathers smart speakers and a curious crowd, plus a bar. This month, they’re in Sugamo to talk about inspiration in mathematics and climate change in video games. As always, they will have cafe food and craft beer on tap!
First, researcher Prasad Cheema is telling us about his belief that “mathematics at its core holds a philosophy of intellectual courage that teaches profound lessons about how to approach life.” Then, second-time presenter Stéfan Le Dû “takes us on a nerdy journey through the Civilization series, from its early days in 1991 to the just-released Civilization VII, exploring how each game has tackled the biggest crisis of our time—climate change.”
