Nerd Nite Tokyo #55: Bad Science, Good Times
Dec 08, 2023 at 8:00pm ~ Dec 08, 2023 at 12:00am
Every month, Nerd Nite Tokyo gathers some smart speakers and a curious crowd, add a bar, and create something unique. It’s the last Nerd Nite of the year, and they are looking forward to new talks from two fan-favorite speakers!
Have you ever noticed bad science in TV and movies? Physicist Kipp Cannon has, too, and he wants to share some good and bad examples of science in entertainment — including the one that was so bad that it finally pushed him to speak out. Meanwhile, virophysicist Catherine Beauchemin, in “How health science is done: the good, the bad and the ugly” will be talking about real challenges in how health science research is done: how it’s funded, how certain quantities are measured, and how data is analyzed to uncover new mechanisms.
Drinks (both alcoholic and non) will be available. Kids are also welcome at Nerd Nite.
You can also find our event information on Facebook and Meetup; Livestream tickets are required and will be on sale soon. ¥1000 suggested; free option also available.
