Mar 21, 2025 at 7:00pm ~ Mar 21, 2025 at 10:00pm
Join the 66th edition of Nerd Nite Tokyo for an evening of mind-expanding talks, drinks and good company on Friday, March 21, 2025 at BLINK Roppongi. This month’s theme, “Space is the Place,” explores the mysteries of outer space with two captivating talks on lunar internet and the human connection to the cosmos.
World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) deputy director Jay Kishigami kicks off the night with a deep dive into the challenges future settlers on the Moon will face when trying to use the Internet. Kishigami will explore possible technical solutions and what it means to extend the web beyond Earth.
Next, Cintia Durán from the International Astronomical Union’s Office for Astronomy Outreach will present “Pluto: A Love Story,” a talk about planetary exploration, the human fascination with the stars, and how scientific discovery connects us to the cosmos.
This month, Nerd Nite Tokyo is moving to a new location at BLINK Roppongi, offering a fresh setting for an evening of curiosity and connection. Doors open at 7pm, with the event starting at 8pm. Drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and a variety of food options will be available throughout the night.
Advance tickets are available through the Nerd Nite Tokyo homepage. A livestream option is also available for a suggested donation of ¥1,000 (or free if preferred). Kids are welcome, and the event is open to anyone with an interest in science, exploration and good conversation.
