Play Spcae at Tokyo National Museum

Jan 16, 2026 at 10:00am ~ Mar 01, 2026 at 4:30pm

Get ready to have fun at the Tokyo National Museum (Tōhaku) with the special “Asobiba at Tōhaku!” event, designed for children and their families. It’s a perfect opportunity for kids to have a blast while getting a feel for Japan’s culture, all in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

What’s Happening?

Tōhaku Fuji Play Mountain
Climb and slide down a mountain-shaped play structure. It’s inspired by Japan’s lucky symbols, so you can experience something truly Japanese while having fun.

Hatsuyume Ball Pool
A pool full of colorful balls, and try to spot lucky symbols like cranes and eggplants. There are two separate areas: one for smaller kids and one for bigger kids, so everyone can join in.

Asobiba Omikuji (Fortune Telling)
Each fortune features a lucky motif like Mount Fuji or cranes. It’s a great way to introduce kids to Japan’s lucky symbols, and you can also leave messages for the museum’s future events.

Calm Down Space
For those moments when kids (or parents!) need a break, this quiet area is perfect to relax and recharge.

Relax Area
With over 150 children’s books available to read, this area gives families a chance to unwind. You can even create your own handprint art inspired by Tōhaku’s exhibits.

Baby Area
For the tiniest visitors, there’s a special space designed for babies, plus a baby care room with changing tables and nursing areas.

Free Gift
Families with preschool-aged kids can receive a free hand towel from Mikihouse (while supplies last).
