“The Four Sufferings” is an interactive performance that interprets and swims into the essence of Buddha’s teachings. The four sufferings were what the Buddha encountered when he was a young prince in his father’s palace. This awakening motivates him to follow a religious path and pursue enlightenment.
The First Noble Truth is that the suffering of birth, old age, sickness and death is unavoidable. Some fortunate people may now be enjoying relatively happy and carefree lives, but it is only a matter of time before they, too, will experience suffering of some kind. What is also true is that this suffering — whether it is a cold, an injury or a sad event — must be borne alone. When you have a cold, it is your cold and only you experience how it feels for you. In another example, a man may be very concerned that his mother is growing old. No matter how much he cares for her he cannot take her place and suffer the pains of aging on her behalf. In the same way, if a boy falls very ill, his mother cannot experience the pains of his illness for him. The Buddha taught people to recognise that suffering is part of life and that it cannot be avoided.

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING A TICKET

There are 3 categories of tickets:

bishops (2 tickets available only)
Entrusted with a position of authority and oversight, the bishops have the best position in the ritual circle.
Inner Circle(16 tickets available)
The inner circle is part of the ritual, a chain with the artist gathering around the ritual.
Witnesses (12 tickets available)
The witnesses are outside of the circle, but still, are allowed to watch and witness the ritual.

Location will be sent to ticket holders the day before the event (central Tokyo).

For the first show (5pm)

Door will open from 4.30pm.
Door will close at 5.00pm.
After 5.00pm will be strictly prohibited to enter the event.
Ritual will start at 5.05pm.
Duration of the event is approximately 1 hour from the start of the ritual (6.15pm).

For the second show (8.15pm)

Door will open at 7.45pm.
Door will close at 8.15pm
After 8.15pm will be strictly prohibited to enter the event.
Ritual will start at 8.20pm
Duration of the event is approximately 1 hour from the start of the ritual (8.20pm)

Tickets are not refundable. Check your schedule and time table to be sure to be able to arrive on time.
During the ritual you are not allowed to leave the location (except for emergencies).
“Bishops” ticket holders and “Inner Circle” ticket holders will be asked to leave the phone at the entrance of the event (to allow a full enjoyment of the Ritual).
“Witnesses” ticket holders will be allowed to bring their phone and camera inside.
Fuego participants are not allowed to speak unless their identity is hidden. This means without a mask to cover your mouth and nose, please refrain from speaking. You may be asked to leave if you cannot observe this code of conduct.
No ticket at the door on the day of the event.
Please do not bring friends/guests without a ticket, they will not be allowed in the venue.
Do not post the venue or access instruction on SNS.
No outside food/drinks are permitted.
Smoking inside the venue is forbidden.
No fire at the venue.
