Tokyo Grand Tea Ceremony 2023

This year marks the 14th occasion of the Tokyo Grand Tea Ceremony. Arts Council Tokyo is proudly hosting two grand-scale tea ceremonies for those familiar and new to the experience.
You can either experience an indoor tea ceremony in a Japanese-style room with a tokonoma (traditional alcove) or in a nodate (outdoor-style tea ceremony). Students from high school tea ceremony clubs will also offer an Outdoor Tea Ceremony.
For children below junior high school age, a separate ceremony provides a fun experience with their guardians to learn about the hospitality and manners behind the ceremony. Every tea ceremony includes tea and sweets.

Price
General: ¥300 per person, Age 65+: ¥150, Under 12: Free
Indoor and Outdoor Tea Ceremony Program: ¥800
Indoor Tea Ceremony for Children: ¥500
Under 12 and Tokyo-based junior high school students: Free
Reservations
To attend the Indoor Tea Ceremony, reserve your seats in advance online here. Reservations will be accepted from August 10 to 11:59pm on September 10. Same-day tickets will be sold at other venues.
If applications exceed the number of available tickets by the deadline, participants will then be selected by lottery. Lottery results will be sent in late September via email. Check here for any allergens the tea ceremony might contain.
