Yayoi Kusama Exhibition: Fighting Woman/Painting Girl

Oct 16, 2025 at 11:00am ~ Mar 08, 2026 at 5:30pm

The Yayoi Kusama Museum is holding its 16th exhibition titled, “Yayoi Kusama: Fighting Woman/Painting Girl.”

Yayoi Kusama’s identity has long reflected in her works. The 16th exhibition focuses on two facets of Kusama, a “Fighting Woman” and an “Innocent Girl.” In 1975 New York, Kusama was a minority Asian woman in a male-dominate art industry, a “fighting woman,” as shown in drawings, sculptures, and documentary records of the time. Her more recent works depict energetic paintings and three-dimensional works with vibrant colors which depict the “innnocent girl.” The exhibition hosted until March 8 is an amalgamation of the past and present, the “Fighting Woman” and the “Innocent Girl.”

Tickets are not available at the door, all tickets must be purchased in advance at the Yayoi Kusama Museum Website. Entry is valid for a 90-minute time slot.
