As principal dancer and then artistic advisor to William Forsythe at the Frankfurt Ballet, Italian-American Tony Rizzi absorbed many of the iconic choreographer’s ideas. But since forming his own Moving Productions company, he’s developed a humorous style that owes as much to theater, text and visual arts as it does to contemporary ballet. The approach, which Rizzi describes as “about relationships—relationships to line, to music, to each other,” will be on display in Everybody Tells a Story, in which he works with dancers Mario Zambrano and Yoko Tani, as well as actor and tarento Norito Yashima.
