Some of the more interesting music to be heard on the planet is now coming from Poland. Japan gets its first taste of it in the form of Poland New Music Festival, a two-day extravaganza at club Pit Inn in Shinjuku. Among the artists to appear is Mikrokolektyw, whose experimental jazz-tronica will strike a familiar hyper-urban chord with Tokyoites. The event is produced by Vienna-based Japanese guitarist Kazuhisa Uchihashi, who will collaborate with the visiting Poles along with revered domestic noiseniks Tatsuya Yoshida (drums) and Koichi Makigami (vocals).
Pit Inn, Nov 18-19 (listing).
