If you’re into craft beer and looking for some new taste sensations, why not go Canadian? Importer Raymond Chiu is now bringing in craft beers from Phillips Brewing of Victoria, B.C., on the country’s west coast. Available at the specialty Canadian wine store Heavenly Vines in Ebisu, the microbrewery’s robust Amnesiac Double IPA, citrus-tinged Hoperation Tripel Cross Belgian IPA and coffee and stout Longboat Chocolate porter are each available now in Tokyo—the first Canadian craft beers to be offered in Japan. While their focus is on Canadian wine, quality Canuck craft beers—like those produced by Phillips—are kindred spirits. “They’re made with the same commitment to excellence and distinctiveness,” says Heavenly Vines’ co-owner Jamie Paquin. The feisty microbrews are available in store or for home delivery from the Heavenly Vines website.
