Petite Japanese women often prefer clothes that make them appear fuller-figured—to the lament of many a foreign gal. But now a lingerie maker is reaching out to the other segment of the population. Last fall, Wacoal surveyed 590 women about what they look for in a bra, and a full 10.9 percent answered: “I want to make my bust look smaller.” That’s the background behind the company’s new Chiisaku Miseru bra, a limited-edition item available from its website until August. Because it’s aimed at bustier women, the bra comes only in sizes D through G cup—that’s C through DDD and D through F for you Americans and Brits out there. It’s available in black, beige and violet for ¥4,935 (¥5,250 for G).
