Straight out of Waikiki and into Harajuku comes the fabled Honolulu diner Eggs ’n Things (4-30-2 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku; www.eggsnthingsjapan.com). Since opening in 1974, this Hawaiian hotspot has attracted a devoted following among locals—and a downright rabid following among Japanese tourists. The new location offers the same all-day breakfast menu as the original, including specialties like macadamia nut pancakes with strawberry whipped cream (¥1,050), eggs with corned beef (¥1,200) and a variety of omelets (¥1,100-¥1,200). A full vegetarian menu is also available, while meat lovers will enjoy dishes like steak and eggs (¥1,400). Down-home Hawaiian imports include loco moco (¥1,000) and a spam and green onion omelet (¥1,100). Eggs ’n Things also offers sweet varieties of pancakes like banana and chocolate chip (both ¥800), and just like at the best diners back home, the eggs are available any way you like them. The two-story interior has a homey Hawaiian vibe, with lots of natural colors and terrace seating.
