Since coming together last year, Writers’ Bloc, Tokyo has built a small but passionate following among spoken word aficionados, particularly those in the Jamaican/Caribbean and African-American communities. The group holds its next evening of prose, poetry and music at regular haunt, Jamaican outpost Jamrock Café in Harajuku. Writers’ Bloc, Tokyo is the brainchild of Pernais Morrison, a Jamaican who has been writing and performing poetry for several years in Japan.
Jamrock Café, July 22 (listing).
