Join us for a fun JMEC Sake Exploration Night on Tuesday October 26th!

This is a special event with Kyoko Nagano, Founder and Director of Sake Lovers Inc. and a participant in the JMEC 25 program, as host and speaker. As part of the event, Kyoko-san will also introduce you to three types of sake with a guided online tasting for these.

You may already be a ‘sake fan’ but perhaps not fully up to speed on the different varieties of sake in Japan, the merits of drinking it hot or cold—or if sake is better with some foods than others. Or you may not yet be fully persuaded of the delights of sake but interested in learning more about it. Whatever questions you may have, Kyoko-san will be happy to answer!

We will kick off the event with Kyoko-san giving a talk about sake—its history and traditions, different varieties and regional specialities—different ways to drink and enjoy it. She will then move onto a sake tasting of three types of sake. If you are interested, you can order a sake tasting set in advance of these particular three sake varieties.

The tasting selection will include a sparkling sake, a sake that pairs well with many dishes (not only Japanese food), and a dessert sake. Even long-time sake lovers may discover a new taste! Kyoko-san will talk about the uniqueness of each sake and what makes the taste different, and of course she is happy to answer any sake questions you have. She will also share a few recipes for sake cocktails!

The testing set includes 3 bottles of sake: Sparkling sake 250ml, Iwate Homare (Unreleased version) 270 ml, and Hananoi 300ml—at a total price of ¥5,000, which includes the sake bottles, shipping to your home address and tax.

If you want to order the sake tasting set, you must sign up for the sake-testing-set ticket option by 18:00 on October 20, 2021. You will then be contacted directly on the E-mail address with which you have registered for this event, to arrange the practical details of the shipment.
