Global Volunteer Month, held every April, is a campaign that celebrates volunteers around the world and creates opportunities for more people to engage in volunteer activities. It’s an initiative that supports those who give back to their communities, showing how even small actions can lead to meaningful change.

As part of this campaign, Hands On Tokyo is hosting the Arakawa Cleaning event on Saturday, April 5, 2025. This event offers a hands-on opportunity to improve the local environment by cleaning up the Arakawa River. It’s a chance to contribute to a cleaner, healthier community while connecting with fellow volunteers.

Schedule:

• 2:10pm: Meet at Higashi-Ojima station (Komatsugawa Exit)
• 2:15pm: Heading to the cleaning area from Higashi-Ojima Station
• 2:30 – 2:45pm: Orientation & Safety Activity
• 2:45 – 3:45: Cleaning
• 4pm: Dismiss

What to Bring:

All is prepared but bring long-sleeved t shirt/trousers and comfortable shoes

Event will be cancelled if there will be 70% predicted rain in the previous day. In that case, we will inform everyone of the cancellation.
