Monozukuri – Craftsmanship and Artisanal Skills Festival 2024

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will hold the “Monozukuri/ Takumi no Gijutsu Festival 2024″ to promote the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and manufacturing skills and technologies.
On the opening day of the festival (August 2), a special joint work of art will be presented by a group of artisans who are active in the forefront of manufacturing to open the festival. In addition there will be numerous stage programs where visitors can enjoy demonstrations by artisans. The stage event will be streamed online and there will also be viewer giveaways.
Hands-on Programs
Participate in over 90 available hands-on programs available for visitors. You can actually experience a variety of skills such as woodworking classes, egg-baking and making hanko stamps. These hands-on programs are perfect for children during their summer vacation. Reservations will be accepted from 10 am on Tuesday, July 16.
Youth Event
There will be several programs for young people as well. Join a drone piloting experience with the cooperation of engineering high school students, or work with master plasterers, interior decorators or Japanese dressmakers.
Theme Exhibition
A tea ceremony room will be exhibited to showcase the skills of Japanese artisans in traditional Japanese architecture.
National Booths
Craftsmen from all over Japan will be exhibiting at booths and offering hands-on programs.

Admission: Free *There is a fee for some hands-on programs.
