Award-winning wildlife photographer Koki Yamada presents his first large-scale solo exhibition, “Nahar — Ranthambhore,” at Daikanyama Hillside Forum from April 26 to May 17, 2025. This exhibition showcases breathtaking photography and video works documenting the Bengal tigers of Ranthambore National Park in India. Through Yamada’s lens, visitors will explore the delicate balance between conservation, tourism and human impact on wildlife.

What to Expect

This exhibition tells the story of Nahar, a revered Bengal tiger and the challenges faced by wildlife conservation in India. Once a royal hunting ground, Ranthambore National Park is now a vital sanctuary, but increasing human development and tourism pose ongoing threats. Yamada’s work highlights the struggles and triumphs of tiger conservation, offering a rare glimpse into one of the world’s most stunning ecosystems.

About Koki Yamada

Koki Yamada has traveled across Antarctica, the Arctic, Alaska, Africa and the Galápagos Islands, documenting wildlife and conservation efforts. His work focuses on the coexistence of people and wild animals, with a particular emphasis on Bengal tigers in India. He has won multiple photography awards, including First Prize in the Nature Category of the Nikkei National Geographic Photo Award (2020). His latest book, “Nahar — Ranthambhore,” features over 600 images from his extensive fieldwork.
