Suntory Hall presents Mitsuko Uchida Piano Recital on Tuesday, October 28, and Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Uchida is widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of our time. She is celebrated for her musical insight, intelligence, and captivating performances around the world. Furthermore, she has been a longtime presence at Suntory Hall. Her first appearance there was during the venue’s opening season in 1986. Now, as the hall’s only Associate Artist, this recital marks her first return since 2021.

In this recital, Uchida will perform the last three piano sonatas, Op. 109, 110, and 111, by Ludwig van Beethoven. Composed around the same time as his Ninth Symphony, they are among his most sublime and transcendent works and have been recorded and performed by many world-renowned pianists. Her performance of these works at Carnegie Hall in 2023 received critical acclaim, including the New York Times praising her “wisdom and clarity”, highlighting the interpretive rigor and commitment that have defined her remarkable career.
