This year, as part of Chiba Prefecture‘s 150th-anniversary commemorative project, the “Art Festival for the Next 100 Years” is being held in various places in Chiba, a prefecture rich in nature, culture, and resources, where everyone can participate in thinking about the next 100 years. In Shirako Town, the “Shirako Arts Festival” will be held under the theme of art activities for daily life, in which seeds of thought are planted through architecture, exhibitions, workshops, and other activities, considering life and living itself as art. The festival aims to be a place of co-creation where we can create the next 100 years together.

We want to leave behind a record of the culture, art, and emotions in our daily lives that we want to preserve and plant it as a seed for the future. Together with visitors, Shirako Art Festival invites you to think about the future that can be seen by loving the fields, landscape, sea, nature, culture, people, and the unique culture of Shirako Town, as well as the new way of life that exists in the vanishing old life.
