Spring at the Green – Celebrate Spring with Coffee, Art and Flowers at Azabudai Hills
Mar 22, 2025 at 11:00am ~ Apr 06, 2025 at 5:00pm
Azabudai Hills hosts Spring at the Green from March 22 to April 6, 2025, offering a vibrant celebration of spring with coffee, art and seasonal experiences. This six-day event takes place over three weekends at the Azabudai Hills Central Plaza and features a carefully curated lineup of coffee vendors, workshops and floral displays, creating a relaxing atmosphere in the heart of Tokyo.
The event features Coffee Weekend, where 23 coffee shops from across Japan serve expertly brewed coffee. Local favorites like Ogawa Coffee Laboratory Azabudai and % Arabica are among the participating vendors. Each weekend highlights a unique theme — Books, Donuts and Flowers — combining coffee with creative pairings and activities.
The first installment, Coffee with Books, takes place on March 22 & 23, 2025. Visitors can explore two mobile bookstores, BOOK TRUCK and SNOW SHOVELING, and enjoy a variety of picture books while sipping coffee. The event runs from 11am to 5pm, with nine coffee vendors participating.
The second weekend, Coffee with Donuts, happens on March 29 & 30, 2025. Guests can enjoy the combination of specialty coffee and donuts from top vendors like CYCLO in Chiba, offering gluten-free donuts made with grass-fed butter and domestic rice flour. Other highlights include Hideout, known for its fluffy, rice-oil-fried donuts and Fuwamochitei, which serves light, chewy donuts made with Hokkaido wheat.
The third installment, Coffee with Flowers, takes place on April 5 & 6, 2025. The Azabudai Hills Arena will be decorated with vibrant tulips, creating a colorful spring setting. On the final day, visitors can take home free tulips from the display starting at 2pm on a first-come, first-served basis.
In addition to Coffee Weekend, visitors can participate in the Spring Open Garden workshops held in the orchard at Azabudai Hills. On March 29–30 and April 5–6, guests can create mini herb bouquets and citrus sachets using herbs grown in the orchard. Participation is free, but registration is required on the day, with each session limited to 20 people.
A highlight of Spring at the Green is the display of works by Tomokazu Matsuyama, held alongside the artist’s major solo exhibition “FIRST LAST supported by UNIMAT GROUP” at the Azabudai Hills Gallery from March 8 to May 11, 2025. Three large-scale works — “Wheels of Fortune,” “Double Jeopardy,” and “All is Well Blue” — will be showcased in the Central Plaza from March 4 to the end of April.
Spring at the Green blends art, culture and seasonal flavors, offering a refreshing and unique way to enjoy the arrival of spring in Tokyo.
