Cinema Concert is…
A cinema concert is a new style of movie-watching where an orchestra plays the music live while the film’s dialogue and sound effects are preserved, allowing you to experience the film as if it were a live performance.
Numerous masterpieces have been performed here to date, and the power of the “big screen x live music” brings a new sense of realism to the works. “The Last Emperor Cinema Concert” will feature a screening of the entire film on a large screen, accompanied by a live performance by a full orchestra of music by Academy Award-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and other notable artists.
The conductor is Kazuki Wada, who is active both domestically and internationally. The performance will be performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Japan’s most prestigious orchestras. In addition, erhu player Jiang Jianhua, known for his performance of the theme song for “The Last Emperor” and acclaimed worldwide for his outstanding technique and mournful tone, will also be appearing, adding even more depth and emotion to the work.
