Upcoming Exhibition: Muklay & Ore at UltraSuperNew Gallery in Harajuku

UltraSuperNew Gallery Harajuku is pleased to announce Muklay & Ore’s upcoming exhibition, “Explosion.”

The digital realm never fails to surprise; it has the power to bridge the gap between those living far apart while sometimes keeping close ones at a distance. In this exhibition, the positive impact of social media is evident.

Muklay, an artist hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia, and Ore Ore Ore, currently residing in Japan, share a commonality as full-time visual artists. Both actively engage in illustration, leveraging gadgets and digital tools to stay productive and proactive. Additionally, they collaborate with various brands representing their respective cities.

This exhibition marks their inaugural meeting, providing Muklay and Ore Ore Ore the opportunity to “explode” their creative visions onto their chosen mediums. Despite drawing indirect inspiration from Japanese art styles, the event is envisioned as the starting point for potential future collaborations. For now, let them unleash the contents of their minds into a celebration of art.

Arden Kreuzer

San Diego-born, Tokyo-based Arden is a writer and editor with a master’s in International Relations from Waseda University. With a background in sociology, East Asian history and journalism, she brings a thoughtful, cross-cultural lens to her work. As a senior editor at Metropolis Magazine, Arden works across print, digital and social media platforms, covering everything from cultural deep-dives to international affairs. Rain or shine, she can often be found on a terrace in one of Tokyo’s shitamachi neighborhoods, observing the everyday details that make the city so compelling.
