Cambridge International School
Cambridge International School is committed to educating young children to meet life as a whole. Its philosophy has students learning about the totality, the wholeness of life, with an ongoing inquiry into the way we live our daily lives—as well as a pursuit of academic excellence. All aspects of the curriculum are designed to foster critical reasoning and discussion. The framework used in the classroom emphasises communicational activity as children engage in various tasks. Discussion of the tasks means students come to understand the associated discourse and its underlying rationale. With small classes, close interaction with the teacher provides a means to establish not only a mastery of the principles but also gives rise to a critical awareness of those activities leading to an intelligence born of observation and self-knowing. This self-knowledge is education in the true sense: helping individuals to be mature, free and to flower greatly in love and goodness.

Take the clan for some thrills and excitement this spring at Harbor Circuit in Chiba, where you can all pile into go-karts and race away your pent-up family feuds. No driver’s license is required and full safety guidelines are explained before each heat, so beginners have no need to be nervous. Four or more people can choose a “Group Race” and burn some rubber competing against friends. There is also the simpler “Mini GP” option and even a final 35-lap race—with five different plans to choose from. To hone their skills, drivers can also prove themselves against a real-time ranking system. No matter how crowded it gets, you’re all guaranteed four rides. After the race, everybody can relax around the circuit with snacks and still be part of the exciting race-day atmosphere. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be screeching back for more!
