For more than 20 years, Doug Campbell has scripted and directed film features and TV shows for the likes of HBO and CBS, earning a reputation as a talented writer and one of the most efficient directors in the business. Aspiring filmmakers now have the chance to get insider’s tips from the man himself at an upcoming meeting of the popular Screenwriters in Tokyo group. Currently teaching at Tokyo Film Center School of Arts (when he isn’t in Hollywood), Campbell will be delving into the nitty-gritty of filmmaking on a shoestring, from conceiving a budget-friendly project to breaking down scripts and planning fast, low-cost shoots.
