A quirky OCD type off his meds (Patrick Dempsey) is unlucky enough to be in a bank when not one but two heist crews, one Die Hard professional, the other a pair of hicks, simultaneously try to rob it. What follows is a disappointing jumble of unfunny indie affectations from the screenwriters that brought us The Hangover. Too many characters, none with much depth; too many plot twists, none all that interesting. But the film’s worst offender is the star. Dempsey is okay doing TV doctors and rom-com other-guys, but watching him flail around in this quirky comedy role is, I don’t know, a little insulting.
